Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 30, 2026

Overview

SQLMate ("the App") is a native macOS application developed by Yevhenii Pylypenko. Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains what data the App collects, how it is used, and your rights regarding that data.

Short version: SQLMate does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data or the contents of your databases. Everything stays on your Mac.

Data We Do Not Collect

SQLMate does not collect or transmit:

  • The contents of any SQLite database file you open
  • SQL queries you write or execute
  • File names or file paths
  • Personal identifiers of any kind
  • Usage analytics or telemetry
  • Crash reports (unless you submit them voluntarily via macOS)

Network Access

SQLMate operates entirely offline. The App is sandboxed under macOS App Sandbox with no network entitlements. It cannot make outbound network connections of any kind.

Local Storage

SQLMate stores the following data locally on your Mac only:

  • Security-scoped bookmarks — macOS file-access tokens that allow the App to reopen recently used database files without prompting you each time. These are stored in the App's sandboxed container and are never transmitted anywhere.
  • Recent file list — a list of recently opened database file URLs, stored in the App's preferences. This list is local to your device.
  • App preferences — window size, UI settings, and similar preferences stored in the App's sandboxed container.

Mac App Store

When you purchase or download SQLMate through the Mac App Store, Apple may collect certain data as described in Apple's Privacy Policy. This data is governed by Apple and is outside the scope of this policy.

Children's Privacy

SQLMate is a developer/productivity tool not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.

Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
